Prince Ferdinand, replying to a deputation from Bulgaria which waited upon him and formally announced his election, expressed himself grateful for the choice of the Sobranje, and said he was anxious to haste to Bulgaria, but it was necessary to respect International treaties relating to that country. He added that he hoped to merit the confidence of the Porte, and to regain the sympathies of Russia towards Bulgaria.
