The installation of officers in connection with the Victoria Lodge, Geraldine/ took place on Friday bvening last/ The lodge was opened by the N.G., Bro. J. Cunningham in the usual manner. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Seven candidates were proposed for membership. The installation was conducted in. an impressive manner by D.D.G.M., Bro. G. H. Patrick. The officers installed were—N.G., Bro. J. Williams; Y.G., Bro. J. Dobbie; Secretary, Bro. W. Oallman, senr.; Treasurer, Bro. ,W. Stonehouse; Warden, Bro, J. P. KalaugHer; Conductor, Bro. J, PiEzey ; 1.G., Bro. W. W. Pye ; R.S. to N.G., Bro. J, W. Pye ; 1 L.S. to N.G., Bro. A. Spence; S.S., Bros. R. Hammond and R. Taylor; R.S. to V.G.. Bro. J. Pye ; L.S. to T.&, Bro. E. Fronting. At the conclusion of the lodge, a banquet was held in the lodge room to which about 40 persons sat down, including several guests. It is only necessary to state that the tables were laid by Bb R. Taylor in his best style, ’ ’ T The chair was occupied by the N.G\ Bro. J. Williams, having on his.\righf Bro. J. J. Heap, of the Alexandrova* Lodge, Temuka. The vice-chair was occupied by the Y.G., Bro J. Dobbie, having on his right, Bros. Davis, , and Duoford, also of the Alexandiovna Lodge. The N.G. proposed the toast of “ The Queen and Royal Family,’’ which was heartily drank. The N.G. also proposed “The Grand Lodge and Independent Order of Oddfellows,” coupled with, the name of the D.D.G.M., Bro. G. H. Patrick/ ’ who responded. Song, Mr Morrison, “1 can’t make up ray mind. Bro. Cunningham proposed “TheN.G., Bro. Williams.” He said that it showed the estimation in which the N.G. was held in that he had been sent as delegate to the Grand Lodge, and they had now elected him again as N.G. He hoped he would be able to again work the lodge up to the flourishing condition had been in when he occupied that position before, Bro. Cunningham went on to speak of the advantages to be gained in being an Oddfellow and urged the members to rally round their new chief and push the lodge ahead.—The toast was drank with musical honors.—Bro. Williams said he hoped to see the lodge again flourish as it bad done years ago. People who did not join the lodge were blind to their own interests. He would strongly advise all those present to throw in their lot with them. He thanked the members for sending him to the Grand Lodge. He had been astonished at the reception h* . met there. Ho never thought there was such a spirit of friendship in (he country as he found among the splendid fellows who composed the Grand Lodge. Recitation, “Tibbie,” Bro, Dobbie. Song, “The Parson and the Clerk,” Bro. Logan. The N.G. proposed the toast of “The Past Grand ” coupled with the name of Bro. Cunningham. The toast was drank with musical honors. Bro. Cunningham responded and proposed “the V.G. and newly elected Officers," coupled with the name of Bro. Dobbie, who responded. Song, “ The Noble Little Boy,” Bro. Collman, junr.—-encored. “ The Past Officers” was responded to by Bros, Ward and Coltraan, Cornet solo, Bro. W. Sonehouse, junr. The “Past Grands ,of the Victoria
Lodge ” was responded to by Bros. Pizzoy j and Hammond; Song, “ Uncle Joe,” Mr Brooker. ... The “ Visiting Brethren ” was coupled with the names of Bros. Heap, Dunford, W. Coltman, junr., and Davis, who'responded. Song, “ To be a Farmer’s Boy,” Mr, A, Barker.
“The newly-initiated Members” was coupled with the names- of Bros, E. » Fronting and W. Pye, In proposing this toast, Bro. Coltman expressed the pleasure he felt in being able to stale that the Lodge had now a credit balance to -.the Sick Fund of £l7O. /Applause.) During the past twelve months they had also paid £IOO off the mor'gnge of £3OO which . . was upon the hall at the commencement of ' the year. (Loud cheers.) Ward, 001.-S rgoant Stonehouse, and J. P, Kalaugher, who responded. Recitation, “ Dickey/’ Mr W. Coltman, junr. “The Baby”—meaning the member last initiated—was responded to by Bro. R. Hardy. Song, “The Irishman,” Bro. Williams.
The “Absent Members” was *oupled with tl>p name of Bro. Ward. Song, “ Fitted,” Bro, Dunford. Recitation, selection from Shakespeare, Bro. Cunningham ; aong, “ Studying Economy,” Mr Logan.
The “Worthy Secretary ” was responded to by Bro. Coltman. Song, .‘‘You never miaa the water till the well runs dry,” Bro. Brooker,
The ‘'Present D.D.G.M. ” was responded to by Pro. Patrick., Cornel solo, Bro. W. Stohehouse. .“Mine Host" was responded to by Bro, Taylor. Song, “When ye Gang Awa’, Jamie,” Bro, Ward.

Song, Bro. McKay. __ A vole of thanks to the N.Q., and Ihe singing of “ Anld Lang Syne,” terminated one of the happiest reunions held in Geraldine for some time.
