The installation of officers in connection with tlie Loyal Aloxundrovua Lodge, Terauka, took place on Monday evening last, Tli© ceremony was conducted in an impressive manner by D. D.G.M. Bro. Donn, assisted bv G.O. Bro. Fyfe, and P.G.s Bros. Dunford and Blyth. Tho Officers installed were ; N.G., Bro, J.J. Heap 5 V«G., Bro J. A. McCaskill ; Sec., Bro. F. Archer; Treasuier, Bro. J. Blyth; B.S. to N.G., Bro. Dunford ; L.S. to N.G. Bro. lloulston ; Warden, Bro. Davis; R.S. to Y.G. Bro Phillips ; L.S. to V.G., Bro. Roddick; I.G, Bro. Dunford; R.S.S., Bro. Siegert. A banquet w*s hold afterwards in the Wallingford H del, where an excellent repast’ waS' laid cut in Mr Opira’s beat style. The cfiL-dr was occupied by the N.G.,,8r0. j. J. Heap, ; 'md the vice-chair by the V.G., Bm. McCaskill, and about 30 sat down to dinner.

Bros. Donn and Fyfe. The toast wis drank with enthus asm, and responded to by Bro. Donn, who explain ed that the Society originated with the Masons of London, who joined together for mutual benefit. ■Bro.. Fyfe said he had feund the Grand Lodge the most intelligent body of man he had ever met. He belonged to many other societies, but his sympathies were with the Oddfellows.

Tho Y.G. proposed the toast of Past Masters, coup'ed with the names of Bros. Blyth and Davis. The toast having been duly honored, Bro. Blyth complimented the young men who were now joining the Order ou the great energy they were bringing to bear ou it;

Bro,- Davis was glad to see so manj veterans present, and also that the young mein were taking great interest in the Lodge. For,.eight years, during which the Lodge was in difficulties, he had never missed a meeting, and he Loped the young men who were now joining would take an equally keen Interest in the Order. Bro. Dnnn, 0.D.Q.M., proposed the toast of “ The N.G;. and the Officers of the Alexaiidrovn.l Lodge.’’ Bro. Heap, N.G., responded, and said their Lodge , would soon/be second to none in Canterbury. He hoped to increase th* membership. Bro. McOaskiil, Y.Q., felt proud of the position he held in the Lodge, and said he would do his best to work for the good of the Order. Bro, Comer proposed “ Trade and Commerce,” coupled with the names of Messrs Franks, Bolton, and Roulston.

The toast having been drunk, Mr Franks said it waa a very important subject. They could not have trade or (Ommerce without industrial development, and Ternuku would never be anything unless industries wore enconrajred. There waa untold wealth in the country. Last year he put wheat in maiden land, and got 55 bushels to the acre. (Applause). They had the grandest country on the face of the earth if they only developed its resources.

Mr Bolton made a very humorous speech, and Mr Roulston said he had great faith in the country, and in Temuka. Mr A. G. Wright proposed “The Press,” coupled with the name of Mr Tworaey, and Mr Archer proposed “Tlie Ladies,” coupled wich the name of Mr Lawson. “The Fire Brigade,” coupled with the names of Captain Henry and Lieutenant Gentleman, was drank, And jesponded to by Fireman Bed, “ The Temuka Town Board,” responded, to by Messrs Blyth and Ooira; “The Temuka Road Board,” responded to by Mr Archer;” “The Arowhenua Town Boaid,’.’ responded to by Mr Archer, and “ The Treasurer,” Bro. B-yth ; and "The Secjvtaryj" Mr wore also toasted. Songs were giv*n by Messrs Mogridge, McCsskill, Wright, Tombs, Dunford, Phillips,, and Archer, and . after having spent a delightful evening the party separated;
