Many gentlemen residing in 'and around Geraldine put in an appearance, and three ladies were also among the.field, two of whom rpde as “ straight ” as the haVdiest huntsman, Altogether the nnmberjof persons present was very large. Mr J. S, Rutherford, the “ Master,” was in charge of the hounds, Messrs Thayers and Millar acting as huntsman and whip respectively. Hares were / found to be rather too plentiful to ‘ allow of good runs being made, but some first rate sport was ob’ tained, and all present seemed to enjoy themsblves immensely. The paddocks as a rule was fonnd to be rather soft after the recent wet. No serious accident took place, but Mr G. Wood received a slight shaking by bis horse coming down while lumping at a naked wire fence. Hunting was concluded about 4 o’clock, 1 when most of those present adjourned to Mr Postlethwaite’s, where .an excellent lunch had been pr<v pared, which was done ample justice tof
