A FOOTBALLER’S GRIEVANCES.

TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —Through the medium of jour valuable paper, I should like to ask why the lessee of the Park which surrounds the Geraldine Cricket and Football Ground is allowed to put his horses and cattle inside the Football Ground itself, thereby rendering it unfit for tbe purpose for which it was reserved ? The ground in its present state far more resembles a very dirty stockyard than a cricket or football ground. The pavilion also has been filled with hay, so that, even if the ground was in proper order, one could not get into the pavilion to change one’s clothes before or after a football match I may say, in conclusion, that the last few matches played in Geraldine were graced by the presence of several ladies, but now, alas! this is impossible, as there is about six inches of mud at each of the two gates into the football ground. It would be only just if the lessee were to clear the ground at his own expense, and, in future, keep his cattle and horses in that part of the Park which he leases, and not in that part which is laid out as a cricket and' football ground, and which is meant for those purposes only. Hoping you will find space for this letter. —I am, etc., Footballer. Geraldine, July 7,1887.
