Maclean sold a draft of bullocks for the executors of the late Ur M, Stud* holme (Waimato Estate), from £7 12a to £B—Messrs vVright, Stephenson and Co. sold for Mr William Grant (Elloughton Grange, Tiraaru), 4 prime bullocks at £9, and 10 boilers at £5 10« to £6 12s 6<l; for Mi Andrew Grant (Temnka;, 6 bullocks at £7 12s 6d to £8 7« 6d.—Messrs Donald lleid and Co. sold for Mr Andrew Grant (Temnka), 7 bullocks at £7 10s. Fat Sluep—24l7 offered. Of these about 130 were merinos, the balance crossbreds, representing all qualities. At the commencement of the sales slightly higher prices than last week’s were ob* tnined, but toward the close bidding was not so spirited, and values ruling were much the same as at previous week’s sale. Be*t crossbred wethers brought from 9 a 3d to Us 61 (one pen 12s); others, 6s 3d to 8s 6d; best crossbred ewes, 8a 3d to 10s 6d; others, 4s 6d to 8s; merinos, 5s 6c* to 6s 9d (one pen of prime wethers at 10s 6d).—Mr L. Maclean sold for the executors of the late Ur If. Stud holme (Waimste estate), 93 crossbred ewes at 9s to 9s 9d.—Messrs Wright, Stephanson and Co. sold for Mr Andrew Grant (Temuka), 15 crossbreds at 7s 3d; for Mr William Grant (Elloughton Grange, Timaru), 65 crossbred ewes at 9a 6d. Fat Lambs—Only 53 forward. These were sold by Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. on account of Mr Andrew Grant (Temuka) at 6s 3d to 7s. Pigs—2oo penned, representing all sorts. A fair amount of competition was experienced for all offered, sales being effected at the following rates Suckers, 3s 6d ; stores, 7s to 18a; porkers, 20s to 28s; baconers, 30a to 68i, a few heavy weights to 645.—-Mr L. Maclean sold for the executors of the Itte Mr M. Stndholme (Waimate estate), 25 from 36s to 40s.
ENGLISH MARKETS.
Lovdov, Jane 38. Australian tallow—Average quality beef, 22s 6d ; mutton, 245. The wool market continues firm. The catalogue at to-day’s auction com* prised 12,800 bales, June 29. Adelaide wheat, ex store, is Bfis ; Adelaide floor, 25». Hew Zealand wheat, from 84s to 365. At the wool sale to-day 11,000 bates were offered. The market sontinues firm. The present aeriea of colonial wool auctions close on July 15tb. The New Zealand Lean and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following cablegram from London, dated 28th June, 1887 : Wool The sales progress firmly. For short staple merino heavy in grease and inferior scoured merino the market is slightly better. Superior greasy merino has advanced £d per lb, and fane greasy crossbred to Id per lb since close of last sales. For other descriptions the market is unchanged. Up to date 179,000 bales have been sold. Wheat—Reports are favorable concerning the growing crop here. The market is weak, and quotations are unchanged. Frogen Meat Market qmVt, and quotations are unchanged since last telegram.
