OHBISrCHUTROH CORN EXCHANGE. The Corn Exchange reports for the week <>ntling Friday evening, the Ist in*t.

The marksts have not imperially changed during the week, and shipments I, ato keen rather slack. Several seed parcela of wheat have been whipped, which has been satisfactory io sellers, and oats have generally hardened, but the actual advance has been very slight. Sydney advices report potatoes to be a ittle better, but with no likhhood of its being maintained, owing to large expected arriva'p, consequently our loca' market ha# in no way improved. Freights to the Uni e«l Kingdom are slightly in favor of shippers.

Wheat—Tuscan «nd pearl are both in fair demand at 3s 7d, and hunters at 3s 6d. Holders have been more disposed to do business during the past week. Second quality varies from 3s 3d to 3- 6d, amt clncken wheat ia firm at 2# 10d to 3s Id for local requirements. O.ta—Milling and heavy feed have a fiimer tone, ami up to 2s has been given for the former, when prime feed have sold at 1« 9d, Is 10d to Is lid, uccotding to quality ; duns have boon inquired for at Is JOl to 2a; long feed are rather quiet at 1# 7d to .Is Bd. Barley—Very little prime is offering ; second quality is being taken up at 3s 8d to 3s lOd ; feed is worth 2s 3d to 2s 4d. Beans- Beans are being taken up for shipment at 3s Id to 3s 2d, with few offering. Pea*—B’ue Prussians are very dull at 3s to Sa 5d ; and feed kinds are selling slowly at 2a B<i to 2s 10d. Grsas Seed— Ryegrass shows no sign of improvement. Machine-dressed is quoted at 3s 64, and farmers' parcels are hard to quit at 2s to 3a, according to quality. Cocksfoot has bad a brisk business during (he week, and bright, heavy, clean seed has changed bands at 4d ; ordinaly samples range from 3Jd to 3|d. Potatoes show no improvement io value. Dairy Produce—Quotations are unaltered. The above quotations Are for delivery, f.0.b., Lyttelton, sacks extra.

CHRISTCHURCH STOCK MARKETS.

At the Addington yards on Wednesday, fairly large supplies of all descriptions of stock were yarded for the week's market, the attendance of buyers and others interested being somewhat above tbe average. Cattle—Fat: A better entry in point of stock of toth quality and quantity compared with recent markets, and ao improved demand manifested. Values, however, showed little if any improvement. Few if any lines were passed unsold, Prime bullocks sold at from £6 32s to £8 per head, lighter sorts at from £6 to £5 16s. Heifers sold at from £3 15s to £5 2s 61. Fat cows at from £4 to £7 per head, being from 15s to 17a 61 per IOOIba, according to the quality. Stores : A moderate entry; very mixed lot; slightly batter inquiry to be noted. A pen of iwo-and-a-balf-year-o'd steers in fair condition sold at £3 16s per head ; heifers of the same age, £2 7s fid to £3 ; dry cows, at from 20s to 26s per head. A good number of dairy cattle were on offer. Values remain as before quoted. Sheep—Fat; There wae a good entry of this class of stock, tbe quality in many cases being very prime, and, on the whole, about an average lot, Tbe demand was pretty fairly active, both local nod for expert. Business was done at about late rates. Crossbred wethers sold at from 11s to 14s, for best quality; lighter weights, 7« fid to 9s fid ; maiden ewes and wetners, mixed, from 8s 6d to 11a 3d ; crossbred ewes, mixed ages, from 5s fid to Bs, being at from l£d to 2d per lb, according to quality. Stores; A fairly good entry, principally young sheep, tbe demand for which still continues. Crossbred wethers sold at from 6s fid to 6s Bd, a lino of crossbred ewes |» to 6s 3d, and lines of lambs at from 4s 5d to 4s 7d per head.

Pigs—A very heavy entry, the great proportion being baconera of good quality. The demand was keen, nil lots selling at late rates, viz., 2£d to 3JI per lb, according to the weights and quality; baconera sold at from 28s to 455; porkers from 18s to 26s ; stores very dull of sale.

DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKETS.

The following is the report for the week ending Wednesday

Wheat—There is no alteration to note in the tone of the market since last reporting, Millers are prepared to buy moderately at quotations, and as holders are not forcing sales, late values hold good. Fowl wheat is scarce, and consequently readily saleable. Quotations are ;—For prime milling, 4« to 4s Id ; medium, 3a 9d to 3s Jld ; inferior and fowl wheat, 3s 3d to 3s 3d.

Oats—Sales during the past week have been light, chiefly owing to the fact that holders are ask'ng rather higher prices. Bast feed and milling samples are in most demand, and medium also meets with a fair sale. The following are quotations : —Prime milling, Is B£d to Is 9d ; extra, Jrt more ; bent short feed, la 8d to lsßsd ; medium, Is 7d to Is 8d ; inferior and musty, la 3d to Is 6d. Barley is in good demand for malting at 3s iOd to 4s (bags extra). Milling is inquired for at 2s 9d to 3s fid ; fefd, 2s fid. Chaff—At present best quality would fetch £2 15s to £3 ; medium, 45s to 50s. Potatoes—The market is quiet, and supplies fall at 35s for northern and 30< for southern derweots ; kidneys, for seed, 60s to 66a. Butter—Fresh, io mixed oases, 7sd to 8d ; salt, in kegs, quiet, at 7d. Eggs—ls 8d per dog. Sheepskins—On Monday green crossbreds sold at 2s fid to 3s 9d ; green merinos, Is 6d to 2s 9d ; lambxkins, Is 9d to Ss fid ; dry crossbreds, Is Id to 4s fid ; do merino*, Is 3d to 3s 9d. Hides—There is a ready sale {or all lota coming tfie demand, although confined to local requirements, being brisk. Quotations are as follow :—lnferior and' bulls', to fid ; light, fil<] to 24d ; medium, fid to fi£d ; heavy, 3{d to 4|d.
