RHUBARB FLAT SCHOOL.
A in ating of householders was held at the residence of Mr Geo. King, Rhubarb Fist; on Wednesday evening last for the purpose of electing a School Committee and receiving a letter from the S.O. Board of Education r* altering the name of the district. It was resolved to alter the name of the district to Pleasant View, and to take the necesaary steps to have the same confirmed. The following householders ware elected a School Committee:—Messrs John Mulvahill, Bobt. Meynell, James Karnes, Timo'hy P'Coonor, Wdward Howften, William Howes, and ii'ubt. Hammond. Committee Meeting.
-■ A meeting of the new Committee was ■held immediately afterwards, when Mr Hammond was elected Chairman. CORRESPONDENCE, A letter was read from the S.C. Board of Education declaring Rhubarb Flat a school district, and that a teacher would be granted on 'he condition that the Committee find school accomodation free for at least one year.—Mr J. Rice being unable to give his cottage free, ns promised, it was decided by the Committee to build a school 20ft x 20ft on their own account, and to apply to the Board for information re plans and a site, DATE OF MEETING. It was resolved to hold the next Committee meeting on June 30th, at the house of Mr E. Howden.
This being all the business the Committee adjourned till that date.
