WEST COAST JUBILEE EXHIBITION.
The West Coast Jubilee Exhibition was opened at Wanganui yesterday by Hia Excellency Hie Governor, in the presence of a large assemblage. Addresses of welcome were read by the Town Gork and Friendly Societies, after which the Governor was driven to the gardens, where he opened the Queen’s Bond Rotunda, erected as a memento of the Queen's Jubilee, and then proceeded to the Exhibition building, where an address was delivered by Mr Carson, Chairman of the Committee, and His Excellency replied. A public luncheon was held after the ceremony, at which speeches by the Governor, Mr Ballanco. and others were delivered. The weather, which had been bad for ihe previous two days, was all that could bo desired, and everything passed off satisfactorily. There was a large attendance of Friendly Societies, and the Volunteers turned out as a guard of honor. The proceedings were marked with enthusiasm all through.
