Paris, May 5. Le Temps to-day states that M. Waddington, the French Ambassador to the Court of St. James, has proposed that an Anglo-French Naval Commission be appointed for the protection of the New Hebrides. Le 'IV mr, s considers the proposal will probabiy be accepted by the British Government. Le Temps to-day makes a proposal that the garrison nt tbe New Hebrides should be replaced by a police force rstab'ished by a French Company, the French Government granting a subvention of thirty thousand francs.
