Calcutta, April 16. News to hand from Candahar states that the Ameer's troops attacked the rebel Ghilzais on the road between that place and Cabal, and inflicted a severe defeat on them, 200 Ghilzais being killed. London, April 16. Advices from Central Asia state that the Russians are slowly advancing on Zulficar on the Afghan frontier. It is rumored that Komaroff, Russian Commander in Turkestan, has telegraphed for reinforcements, and is actively preparing to conduot an Afghan war. The Governor of Candahar states that he will be unable to attack the Ghilzais until be has been reinforced.
