THE LONDON CORPORATION.

London, March 19. Startling disclosures continue to come before the Committee of the House of Commons appointed to investigate the charges'of corruption brought against the Corporation. The evidence more than bears out U.e original charge, which was that £20,000 had been expended in efforts to defeat the City of London Government Bill. Amongst the witnesses examined was Mr Joseph B, Firth, who at the time of the introduction of the Bill was a Liberal member tor Kensington, Mr Firth affirmed that £71,000 were expended on the working up of meetings, petitions, and agencies to defeat the measure. The inquiry, which is causing great excitement, is still proceeding.
