SCOTSBURN SCHOOL.
On Thursday last the school was closed ' for the harvest holidays, and during the afternoon the children received their ■ prizes. The prizes wore" presented by Mr Dennistoun, who, after distributing the prizes, briefly addressed the pupils. The following is the prize list Standard V.—William Pithie 2, Frank „ Ritchie 2, Maggie Langford 3. Standard IV.—William Langford 1, v ’ Emily Freeman 2, Albert Sowerby 3. Standard lll.—Alexander McLeod 1, Marian Thew 2, Kate Jenkins 3. c.; Standard ll,—John Thew 1, Christina McKay 3, Charles Jenkins 3. Standard I.—Eliza McKay 1, Charles Thew 2, Ellis Ritchie 3. Preparing for Standard I.—Upper Division; Bertie Whetton 1, George Dean 2, Louise Jenkins 3. In the lower division each child received a small gift. Sowing—Senior Girls; Emily Freeman 1, Jessie Whetton 2, Isabel Pithie 3, Junior Girls ; Mary llae 1, Eliza McKay 2, Helen Pithie 3, Christina McKay 4. Gymnastics—Albeit Sowerby 1, John . Thew 2, CharlssThew 3. Attendance Prize—George Pithie, -The" 'examination for prices wae conducted by the teacher, and the sewing, was most kindly andertuken by Mrs Dennis tona.
