At the inquest on Schourup at Christchurch yesterday morninjr, Dr Thomas deposed that the deoeased suffered very much from liver disease. No signs of poison could be detected. Other witnesses stated that he had been very unwell and inuob depressed by the hot weather. He purchased chloral on Monday, but no traoe of the bottle could bo found. A verdict of death from natural causes, probably accelerated by an overdose of chloral, was returned. Stephen Walsh and Michael Sheenan were oommitted for trial at Ohristchurch yesterday for robbing a drunken man of clothes and money. G. H. EH, son of George Waldock Ell, whose oase has been before the Supreme Court, in various forms for several months, was committed to gaol at Cbnstohurch yesterday for refusing to answer a question at the Official Assignee's examination.
