THE RECENT ROBBERY AT AROWHENUA.
At one o'clock yesterday Mr Longson reported to the police that he had found the money and jewellery that was stolen from bis house last Saturday night, concealed just above the doorway of the watercloset, which is situated at the back of the house. On Constable Guerin proceeding to the spot he found the money and jewellery in the place indicated, and it was wrapped up in two parcels—the jewellery in one, and the money in another—the paper wrapped around them being a Tbkpka Liadii of the 19th October. The police had/been diligently working the cue up, and probably it was owing to their efforts that the articles were returned. If this was not the case it is difficult to eonceive, what motive the thief could have bad, as it is very improbable that unyone would ha7d taken tbe articles for the purpose of playing a practical joke on Mr Longsou. Mr Longsou is very fortunate in having reconred the missing property.
