At the Burriside-Yards o‘n f Wednesday tbe following business was transacted; :
Fat Cattle—2o3 head yarded, most of fair to good quality. Best bullocks brought from LlO to LI2 ; ordinary, frqtn L 7 to L 9 10s ; best cows, from L 7 10s to L 9 ; ordinary, L 4 10s to L 7. —Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. sold for Mr Andrew Grant (Temuka), 6 prime bullocks at from L 9 to Lll.— Mr L. Maclean sold for Mr Andrew Grant (Temuka), 12 prime, bullocks at L 9 2s 6d to Ll2, making the highest average of the day ; for Mr Wm. Grant (Elicughton Grange, Timaru), 6 prime bullocks at L 9 12s 64• to L9, ; 155. ' Fat feheep—Another full market, 2946 being penned, inclusive of 850 merinos. Prices fell Is to" Is 6d per head. < Best crossbred wethers brought from 14s to 35s 9 i ; ordinary from 12s to 13s 6dbest merino wethers, from lls tn 12s 6d • ordinary from 9s to 10s. ,: Fat Lambs—l3s penned, prices ranginig from 6s 6d to 12s 6d, (be,latter price being obtained for a very prime Jot. Pigs—2o3 came forward. Bacon pigs sold at from 26s to 69s ; porkers at from 20s to 255; stores at from bs to 17s. —Mr L. Maclean sold for Mr Jas. M’Dunald (Wasbclyke) 30 at Item 245. ;i : : Horses—Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Go. quote 'first-^ass 1 draught! at from jL24 t> L 27 ; medium (useful fa>m liorses), from Ll 5 to L 22 ; light draughts and spring-cart horses, from LI3 to Ll 7 ; first-class hacks and light-harness horses, from Ll 6 to L 22 ; medium, L 8 to Ll2 ; inferior and light, Ll lOs to L 5.
