The weather on the second day was extremely fine, excepting that it was rather too warm, and the attendance was better. The racing was good, and everything passed off satisfactorily. The Ueraldine Brass Band played several selections of music during the day in a manner that won general approbation, Results : Handicap Hurdle Race, of 80 sovs. About 2 miles, over 8 flights of hurdles. earned the former get a start of about four lengths, being oo tbe inside of the course, which he improved to about six lengths, fnd never was collared, but came in -a winner hands down. Time, 4min 135 on the winner ; dividend, £llos.

Thiß was a splendid race, all the. horiM, ' with the exception of Hermitage, who lost about four lengths, getting away wall together. After having travelled about 300 yards Patrician had a lead of about one length of Derwenter, Kiogask being about a similar distance behind the second horse. This position was maintained for tha most part of the first lap, but in passing the grand stand the three leading horses were on each other's haunches, with Her*, mitage well up. At the back of tha course Derwenter challenged Patrician, while KiGgask. was 00ly about half ft length behind. . Turninglntb the straight Derwenter took the lead, but by dint of hard whipping Patrician managed to keep hard up, and the race was won only by about half a neck, Kingask being aa excellent third, and Hermitage nowhere. All the horses went away well together, Little Arthur miking the running, with Zelot second, and Uezique, third, DarJm,. being .several leßgths out of it. There was great difficulty experienced in starting the. horses owing to their restiveness, but ultimately a good start was effected, Rapid Bay leading, with Opera close up, Zelot being third, with Masher nowhere.
