THE EASTERN CRISIS.
London, Sept. 16. England, Italy, and Anslrii have recognised the Bulgarian Regency, bat Russia is seeking to upset it. Sept. 19. It has been determined to punish the roops that mutinied at the time of Prince Alexander’s deposition, .Sept, 20. The Standard to-day publishes a telegram from iti correspondent at Sofia stating that the Russian diplomatic agent at tht t town has threatened the suspension of the relations between the Russian and Bulgarian Governments if those persons concerned in the arrest of Prince Alexander are punished. _ Russia refuses to permit Prince Alexander’s return to the throne '* of Bulgaria, The Sobraname adopted an address in which was expressed the hope*{for Alexander’s speedy return. The Great dobra some has been convoked for Oct. 18th. The Bulgarian Regency proposes to elect a Russian nominee to the throne, if the Powers will agree. . St. Peteusbdkg, Sept. .18. General K&ulbara is about to proceed to Sofia as Russian agent. In an official notification of his appointment it is stated that nis mission is to guide Bulgaria out of her troubles. Sofia, Sept. 16. The : Bulgarian National Assembly .opened ■yesterday. The address from the Regency appeals for ,the support of all parties and religions, and announces that at early date the Great Assembly will be summoned for the purpose of electing a Prince. The Russian Government, replying to the communication from the Regency announcing its establishment, has agreed to recognise the Regency, providing that body maintains order in the country, and will endeavor to promote the union between Koumelia and Bulgaria. Russia advises delay in the election of a Prince until public feeling shall have calmed down. Sept. 18. The National Assembly has issued a notification re the establishment of a Regency in Bulgaria, and denouncing the deposition and removal of Prince Alexander.
