AROWHENUA TOWN BOARD ELECTION.
TO THE EDITOR. . Sir,— Although I quite agree with Ratepayer's ” remarks about, the desirability of electing C. Edgoler,, Esq., to a seat on Hie Arowhenua Town Board, yet I think, and trust, that he need bo under no fear of that gentleman being defeated. Surely the father, originator, and instigator, of the whole affair (for it .was began and carried to a successful issue by that gentleman alone) could not be defeated, and, for my part, if I for a moment thought there could be, such base ingratitude I should never have any tpore faith in the human race. Hut JT.know there are so many honest, straightforward men in the Ardwhenua township, that they will not only elect Mr Edgeler, but place him in hia proper position at tbe head of the poll in the first place, and that the Committee will subsequently elect him as their Chairman ; for as.far as my knowledge goes, although there are many very worthy men in the township, there are none deserving such a mark of gratitude as he dees for hia labour, trouble and perseverance in creating the Town Board. —I am, etc.,-/ " Madvais Jambon.
