At the Burnside Yards on Wednesday the following business was transacted : Fat Oatt'e —267 were yarded. Nearly all offered were uaefn' quality beef to prime. There was a reduction of 20a per head all round, Beet bullocks brought from £8 15s lo £ll 10s; medium, £6 10a to £8 10s ; others, £4 and upwards ; cows, £3 to £8 ss.—Mr L. Maclean sold for Mr Andrew Grant (TemukaX 6 heifers at £5 17s 6d to Donald Reid and Co. sold for Mr F. Simmonds (Makikihi), 6 polled Angus bullocks at, £8 7s 6d to £8 17s 6h — Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co, sold for Mr Andrew Grunt (Temuka), 21 cows at from £5 7s Gd to £7. . Fat Calves—ll penned, and sold at from 14s to 28s.
Fat Sheep—The market was overstocked with 3924, sheep, of which 300

Studholmn (Waimate Estate), 120 halfbred wethers nt lOs 6d ; for Mr Andrew Grant (Ternnka), 121 crossbreds from 8s 9d to 9s 3d ; for Mr Walter Hartnell (Rakain), 70 crossbreds from 8s to 10s ; for Mr W. Grat t (Timaru), 64 crossbreds from 6s 9d to 7s Gd.—Messrs Donald Reid and Co. sold for Mr A. Hayes (Waimate), 61 crossbred wethers at 8s to 9s 6d.—Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Go, sold for Mr Andre"- Grant (Ti-muka), 180 crossbreds at fiom 7a Gd to 9s.—Mr Donald Stronach sold for Mr W. Hartnell (Raima), crossbred ewes from 8s 3d to 9s.
Put Lambs--32, fair quality, sold at 5s 9d.
Pigs—l 94 forward. Fully half were suckers and stores, and for these there was vt ry ]i't ! e demand. Porkers and baconers sold at. about late rates. -Mr L. Maclean sold for MrJas. Streeter (Ternuka), G 4 up to 40s.
Horses—Messrs Wright, Stephenson and O, quote first-class draughts at from £2O te £27 ; medium, £l4 to £lB ; good hacks and strong light-harness horses, £ls co £2O ; medium, £lO to £l2 ; light and inferior, £1 to £4.
