ASHBURTON MARKETS.
Mr J 3, G, Staveley (for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company) reports on the Ashburton stock sales on Tuesday as follows : About 2000 sheep and smalt entry of cattle formed the day’s supply. Very few; fat sheep yarded, F*t twottooth crossbred wethers, 9a 5 aged crossbred ewes in lamb, Qs to 6s ; mixed ages crossbred ewes, 8s 6d j mixed crossbreds, two to eight tooth, 4s. Cattle were doll, no beef being yarded. Forward steers, £1 10s to £4 7s 6d ; medium dairy cows, £5 2s 6d j young stock, nominal prices.
