It is announced tbat the Marquis of Hartington lias declined !o jdn Lon) Salisbury in * lie formation of a coalition Ministry. He at the same time intimated that be would accord support in the House to a Conservaliv'' administration.
July 21.
In the now Cabinet it is expected that ibo Marquis of Salisbury, L'-rd Randolph Churchill, Lord Ashbourne, and Sir Michael Hicks-Bcach will, re some the offices held by them in the former Conservative Ministry. The Earl of Carnarvon is unwilling to reenter the Cabinet, Jhe H'>n. Edward Stanhope is mentioned as likely to receive the portfolio of Chief Secretary for Ireland.
Mr Gladstone baa despatched a special messenger to the Queen, at Osborne, conveying the resignation of the Ministry. July 22.
The resignation of Mr Gladstone and colleagues has been accepted by the Queen, and Her Majesty has summoned Lord Salisbury to undertake the formation of a new Ministry.
