GERALDINE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

A meeting of this Committee was held on Wednesday. Present— Messrs N. Dunlop (Chairman), C. E. Sherratt, W. Shiers, T. Farrall, and J. Cunningham. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. TENDER*. The tender of Mr T. Powell for the supply of coal at 36s per ton, and of wood at £1 per cord was accepted. REPAIRS, ETC. Mr Shiers submitted specifications and estimate of cost of the works and repairs necessary at the school, as premised by him at last meeting. He estimated the work At about L 7. It was resolved to submit the specifications to the Board, with a request that they disburse the amount. HEAD MASTER'S REPORT. The Master's report was read, which showed the average attendance for the past four weeks to be about 190, and for the quarter 187. He also reminded the Committee re the appointment of a f second master, and asked that their I communication with the Board be held over until his quarterly return had reached them. HOLIDAYS. The Chairman stated that on account of the pupil teachers' examination occurring this week he had at the request of the master granted a fortnight's holiday.—The action of the Chairman was approved of. VOTR OF THANKS. A vote of thanks to Mr Shiers for preparing the specifications was carried unanimously. VISITORS. Messrs Cook and Farrell were appointed visitors for the ensuing month.
