AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT. TIMAEU. Mr D, Maclean (for Messrs James A. Gracia and Co,) reports for the week ending Saturday as follow : Horses—At the Timaru Horse Bazaar to-day our entry comprised 55 head of all classes, the majority being hunters and hacks, with a few medium draughts. There was a largo attendance of huntsmen and othi-rs during the day, but sales in the hunting class were difficult to effect, and only a few changed hands, the highest price obtained being for the wellknown gelding Hadlow, purchased by Fulhert Archer, Esq., at £3O. As stated above, the draughts wete only medium, and several parties who wore looking for good plough horses failed to get their wants suppli d. We have again to remark thnt this class is being more enquired for every day, and any good sorts coming to hand for the next f-*w days will meet with a ready sale. We qm t 1 medium to good draught- at £9 10, 1 1 £lB, interior £6 to £8 10a. Hunters, accKdine to qna'ity and performance-, from £lO to £3O. H-cks from £8 0 £ls f<*r medium to good, and £3 to £6 for inferior. Sheep— At the S .nth Canterbury Saleyard- on Thursday tin re was a largo and va led entry of >t res and v-ty few fat. For the hitter there was hut liitle demand, and fur the formei, old ewes «ere disposed of at remarkably low prices, a consider-iblo number changing hands. Lambs were not much sought after, hut iheiv is a prospect of the demand for these improving. Wo sold a small line of crossbred lambs at 3- Gd, and old crossbred ewe-from Is 61 to 4-. Privately, we sold 700 4 tooth crossbred ewes at a satisfactory price. Cattle —At the South Canterbury Yards on Thursday we sold ligli'-weight steers and heifers up to £4 2s 6 ). Pigs—We sold 21 at 3a, ss, and 9s.
