Addressing his constituents, Sir Patrick Jenninga advocated a policy of economy in the various branches of the public service. He also pronounces himself in favor of the imposition of direct and indirect taxation, in order to clear off the present deficiency in the revenue without delay, Hobart, March 3.
The Premier, the Hon. Adyr Douglas, has tendeied the resignation to Hia Excellency, the Governor, who, it is understood, has summoned the Hon. Dr Agnew, M.L.O.

The Associated Banks have finally declined to take up the note issue of the Commercial Bank of South Australia. A petition will be filed in the Supreme Court for the compulsory winding up of the affairs of the Bank. Orooke, late manager of the Com* mercial Bank of South Australia, has addressed a letter to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of that institution. In it he confesses he obtained sums of money by overdraft without the knowledge of customers whose accounts were debited by him with overdrafts, Ho further admits he hal reduced the overdrafts hy transferring various amounts from (he loan account without the knowledge of the Director!.
