TIN WALD LIVE STOCK MARKET,

Mr E, G. Staveley (for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company) reports on the Tinwald Stock Market for the 2nd Mareh as follows :

About 3 800 sheep and a moderate number of cattle were brought forward. There was a small attendance, and business was quiet, ahd prices nominal. Fat merino wethers, 5s ; 4-tooth halfbred ewes, in good condition, 6s 7d. Cattle—Dull. Fat heifers, £5 ; forward store bullocks, £4 12s 6d. Others unsaleable.

AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Melbourne, March 2. The Melbourne Manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand (Limited) reports on the local markets as follows : bhipping wheat has a hardening tendency, and is quoted at 4s 2d per bushel ; malting barley is steady at 3s 6d to 4s 3d. New Zealand oats show no improvement ; feed sorts are worth 2s 8d to 3s, while milling descriptions have a moderate enquiry at 3s Id to 3s 3d ; New Zealand oats under bond, 2s 3d to 2s 6d.

ENGLISH MARKETS, London, March 2. Australian tallow, of fair average quality, is worth —Beef, 24s ; mutton, 24s 6d. The stock of tallow in London is 17,800 casks.
