Hopeful Stakes Handicap, of 130 sovs, second prize 20 sovs, third prize 10 sovs from the stake ; for two and three-year-olds ; six furlongs. B. c. by AlbanyB allacy, I ; Hon. G. McLean’s St, Ives, 2; Mr P. Butler’s Titbit, 3. Time—--1 mio 18J secs. Dividends —£4 12s 6d and £4 12s.
Fosbury Handicap, of 300 sova; second prize 60 sovs ; third prize 30 sovb from the stake; miles. Mr John Marshall's Necklace, 1; Mr D. O’Brien’s Hermitage, 2: Mr J. Marshall’s Derringer, 3. Time—2 mins 42 secs. Dividends—On £2 tickets, £4 10s ;on £1 tickets, £2 16s 6d. Marshall Memorial Stases, of 150 sovs, second prize 20 sovs, third prize 10 sovs ; l£ miles. Major George’s Nelson, 1; Mr D, O’Brien’s Tasman, 2 ; Mr J. Marshall’s Turqoise, 3. Time—2 mins 15 secs. Dividends—£l 8s and £1 8s 6d. Flying Handicap, of 100 sovs ; 1 mile. Mr H. Hammond’s Rocket, 1; Mr R. Brown’s Molly Bavrn, 2. Time—l min 47 SBC3. Dividends—£l7 18s and £l7 18s 6d. Hack Race, of 20 sovs. Silver Queen, 1. Dividend—£2. Consolation Handicap, of 80 sovs, second prize 20 sovs; 1 mile. Meteor, 1 ; Taiaroa, 2 ; Rub»zahl, 3. A protest was lodged against Meteor, on the ground of not being a beaten horse, having run in the Hack Race on the second day. After taking evidence, consideration of it was adjourned till Monday. £11,344 was put through the totalisator, making £34,313 for the three days.
Y.R.C. AUTUMN MEETING. The first day’s racing of the Victoria Racing Clnb’s Autumn Meeting took place at Flemington on Saturday. The public were present in good force, and the various events were well contested. Results:— Essendon Stakes ; miles.
