GERALDINE SCHOOL PRIZES.
TO THE EDITOR, Sir,— With your permission I should like to enquire of the Geraldine School Committee the reason of their dilatoriness in regard to the annual distribution of the school prizes. The necessary funds for their purchase were provided by a concert held upwards of seven weeks ago, and yet, as far as I am aware, not a single step has been taken to obtain them. This is not the only occasion when com* plaints hare been made on this account. Last year it was upwards of three months after the examination before the prizes were awarded. There is no reason whatever for this delay, and, besides, it is unfair to the children to keep them so long out of the just rewards for their year’s diligence. Hoping to see some move made in the matter, I am, etc., Pi RENT. Geraldine, Feb. 12th, 1886.
