—,l ■» II CHEISTOHUEOH STOCK MARKETS. At the Addington yards on Tuesday fairly large entries of fat stock yarded. Stores hardly up to an average entry. The attendance of buyers was hardly a representative ODe. Sales began with fat cattle, the quality of which was on the whole not very first class. The demand was also a dull one, late values being paid, viz., 18s to 203 per 1001 b, according to the quality. Steers sold at from £6 5s to £9'; heifers, £5 2s 6d to £8 12s 6d. An average entry of fat aheop, of various degrees of quality. Demand dull; only local requirements to satisfy. Crossbred wethers of heavy weight and very 6uperior quality sold at lis 6d to 12s per bead ; medium quality crossbreds, 8s 6d to 10s ; do ewes, 6s to 8a per bead ; merino wethers from 49 6d to 6s 6d, and in one instance 8a 6d, per head—an average, say, of per lb. A large number of fat lambs on offer, prices ranging from 4s 9d to 9s per bead. A small entry of store sheep penned. No improvement to be recorded in ralues, which remain ruinously low. In the store cattle market a small entry was yarded, and most lots changed hands. Lines of steers in fresh condition sold at £l 7s 6d and £5 per head. Dairy cows low in price. A very few pigs yarded ; prices unaltered. There will be no sale next week. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Melbourne, Dec. 22. The Melbourne Manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Limited, reports on the produce market as follows : For New Zealand wheat, at 8s ILd to 4s, prices are firmly maintained ; malting barley is depressed at 3a 3d to 3s 9d ; oats, New Zealand feed, show a slightly improved tendency at 2s 9d to 28 lid ; milling sorts meet with moderate enquiry at 2s lid to 3s ; Nevr Zealand oats under bond are at 2s to 2s 2d per bashrl
