THE BURMESE WAR.
Calcutta, Dec. 8. King Theebaw, together with the Queen and some other members of bis hr usehold, have arrived at Thoyetungo, in the Pegu district, British Burmah, where they are detained as prisoners. Dec. 4. Intelligence from Mandalay announces that, a large number of Dacoils male a raid upon that place yesterday. Tin- Briti-h troops were taken a disadvantage, and in the fighting which ensued many British officers and men were killed and wounded. Dec. 5. The Earl of Dufferin, G'-vernor-Gmeral of India, replying to an addrei-s presented to him, by the citizens of Lucknow, stated thatit would be matter for careful considi ration whether Burmah should be uniied, or whether it would be better to remodel the administration of Upper Burmah.
