' Belgrade, Not. 17. Adviees from the Servian army in Bulgaria state that the troops gained a number of victories over the Bulgarians yesterday. The force of the Bulgarians was totally routed, and the town of Tru taken. On the north-western fron tier an engagement was fought, ami three of .the Bulgarian Volunteer Battalions stationed on the Timok yielded. A battle also took place yesterday at a point between Konla and Widdin, the Bulgarians being'defeat**! with great loss. ' Upwards of 1000 prisoners were taken by the Servians. Nov. 18. Despatches from the army in Bo'garia announce that the division which crossed the Timok a few days ago captured Widdin, while the forcea operating in the south have taken Radomi>\ A division advancing upon Slivnitz" met with a check. The Bulgarian troops attacked and captured the Servian positions in that neighborhood, after an obstinate resistance. LoMDOW, Nov. 17. The Servians are seeking to annex Widdin. Nov. TB. Mr Gladstone addressed a meeting of his constituents at West Calder las' night. In the course of his speech, be referred at some length to the present difficulty in Roumelia, and appUudeci the course adopted by the Marquis of Salisbury in dealing with the subject. It is considered probable that Prim* Alexander will resign, the Powers allowing bis successor fo contract a personal, and non-political, union with Roumelia. The Servian troops in the vicinity of Widdin have dispersed the Bulgarian forces with heavy loss in the engagement at Slivnitza. Prince Alexander displayed great personal bravery. Sofia, Nov. 18. Telegrams state that Prince. Alexander yesterday carried the' Servian positions menacing Slivnitza, and forced the invaders to retire. Later. It is estimated that the Servians sustained a loss of upwards of 8000 killed and wounded in the fighting near Slivnitza. The Bulgarian losses have not yet been reported.
