MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the B™»rd, was held in the Koad Board Office, Pf."\ Forest, on Friday, the 16th' Oct. prpsent—.'lV Hon. J B. A. Ac'arifl (Chairman), Messrs G. J. Dehni'stouh,' R. Mackay, and CO. Tripp. ' : The minutes of the former meeting were read and. confirmed, The following correspondence was readj and considered :'— From Mr A. Hawdon, requesting leave of abflprc from the meeting of the Board.—The request was granted. ; ; From the Timaru Harbor Board, requesting the use of the office for,the. purpose .of, holding a public meeting to consider the proposal to raise aMoan of
L 100,000 for harbor work* ; «.:m» fur the use of it in taking a poll on the same question. The request wag granted. From the Mackenzie County Council, enclosing an account for alterations and repairs to the Fairlie Creek Bridge,—■ The account was passed for paymt-nt. From Mr J. W. Drewett, and valuer, Christchurch, businen circular. The Overseer's report was roaH, and the following resolutions passed with reference thereto : •' That the Overseer mak« arrange* ments for 6liingling the cutting near Mr Lorgell/'a house ;" " That tie tussocks be grubbed on the Mount Pe»l road ;"" That the pl«ns of r< ads pr<>p ised to he stopped beforwarded to the burvey Office,, Christchurch, for »r> proyal." 'Resolved—*' That the Oyerveer inspect the stockbridge over, the Clayton River with " tha/view of \turning tha 3!ream into its -joiuL .•course/ and furnish an estimate of the probable -cost of the work, and report at next meeting." Accounts to.the amount of L 290 were passed for payment. s '■ '< The Board then adjourned.
