Mr Bernard has asked the Indian Government for a force of 8000 men preparatory to despatching his ultimatum to King Theebaw.

Mr Dihbs and Sir Henry Parkes are rival candidates for the representation of Sr. Leonards in the Legislative Assembly. The contest is expected to be a most exciting one.
