Popplewell’s Frisco 2 Mr Kerr’s Fanny 3 TRAINING NOTES. Melbourne, Oct, 14, The training this morning was animated. Winchester and Liverpool did a useful gallop of a mile and a half in fine s'ylo. Time—2min 53sec. Both went strong and finished well. Lord Wilton covered the same distance in 2min 53secs, Sardins in 2min 55-secs, and Gratitude in 2min 57secs. Prince Imperial, Plausible, Tom Brown and Despot did serviceable spins. THE BETTING MARKET. Melbourne, Oct. 14, There was a large attendance at Tattersail’s to-night, and the p ollowing are the latest quotations on the Caulfield Cup - Velocipede and Prince Imperial, 100 to 7 (taken); Welcome Jack, Torn Brown, Plausible, 100 to 6 (taken) ; Winchester, Blink Bonny, Lord Wilton, Madcap, and Gratitude, 100 to 5 (taken) ; Claptrap, 100 to 4 (taken). Winchester has been backed for the Derby at 100 to 7. SYDNEY SPORTING. Sydney, Oct. 15. Entries for Tattersall’s meeting in January next were received to-day. For Tattersall's Gup they numbered ninetytwo ; for the Carrington Stakes, eightysix, and for the Anniversary Handicap, 110. Entries for the Sumner Cup, to be run on Boxing Day, number sixty-one, NEWMARKET SECOND OCTOBER MEETING.
