The Great Powers generally oppose the claims put forward by Greece and Serria for an extension of (heir territory. The Roumelian siiuation is causing considerable excitement at Constantinople, and the war party are exercising a dominant influence m the Turkish Ministry. Germany proposes that the notification made by Servia and Greece that they intend to demand an indemnity if the union of Rouraelia and Bulgaria i.s acquiesced in should be rejected, and the union recognised by the Powers. England, Russia and Austria approve of the suggestion. Intelligence from Sofia states that a report has gained currency that the Servian troops are marching from Lescova, a town in Scrvia, to Akpalnakia, situated on the road to Sofia, Alarm has been occasioned among the inhabitants of the latter place.
