With reference to the complaint made by officers of the Afghan Boundary Commission that the Governor of Herat had been tampering with their letters, ami tliat he had recently displayed much rudeness and discourtesy towards them, a communication has been receive.! from the Ameer, who expresses regret at hearing that the British officers have been subjected to any annoyance. 'The proposal made will probably lv adopted that the jubilee of the accession or the Queen to the Throne should he celebrated throughout the Empire. Mr Chamberlain, in addressing a meeting at Hull yesterday, condemned the extremes of poverty and wealth in England, and advocated a gradati m property tax, free preliminary education, reform of the land system, and a redress of the inequalities of taxation.
The stock raisers of Buenos Ayres have commenced the regular exportation of beef and mutton, to compete with the Australian trade. Several steamers fitted with refrigerating chambers ami stores have been constructed for the Buenos Ayres trade.
