A reconciliation has been r fleeted between Messrs Parnell and Davitt, their difference of opinion on certain matters in connection with the eoMrol of the Land League having been adjusted. The leading Tories are. urging the candidates for Irish constituencies to disavow Mr Parnell as their leader.

Owing to representations m >de by Prince Bismarck, Russia has abandoned the idea of endeavoring to throw discredit on the Tories respecting their negotiations for a settlement of the Afghan difficulty, so as to injure them at the forthcoming elections. Sir A, Stuart, Premier of New South Wsles, in a letter to the Pall Mall Guzette, opposes Earl Grey’s Federal Council scheme.

As an outcome of the meeting between the Czar of Russia and the Emperor of Austria, it is believed that the latter Power has agreed to enforce the neutrality of Turkey towards Russia.

Agrarian crimes are now manifesting themselves with considerable frequency in some parts of Ireland. Moonlight outrages have been very numerous in the Tralee district, of County Kerry ; a collision also occurred yesterday between the peasantry of Kilkenny and the police. A detachment of the Royal Irish Constabulary, amounting to a hundred men, engaged evicting defaulting tenants, were attacked by a mob of sympathisers of the tenantry, and volleys of stones were hurled against the constabulary, who eventually were obliged to charge at the point of bayonet, wounding a number of persons, some severely. The New Zealand mails via San Francisco, dated Auckland, July 21st, were delivered here to-day. New Zealand frozen mutton realises 4£d pet lb. Complaints have been received by the Government from Colonel Ridgway and the Members of the Afghan Boundary Commission, to the effect that the Governor of Herat has been tampering with letters addressed to Members of the Commission. Colonel Ridgway also states that the Governor has been guilty of rude behavior towards them.

Harvest operations are proceeding favorably, and two-thirds of the crops have already been ricked. The yield is slightly over the average. Aug. 30.

It is generally believed that the meeting of the Emperors of Russia and Austria at Kremsir has resulted in the reaffirmation of the triple alliance,

The Marquis of Hartington, addressing bis constituents at Waterfoot, Lancashire, yesterday, stated that if Mr Parnell and his followers persisted in urging their impossible demands, the Opposition would combine with the Government to place a veto upon their pretensions. He denounced fair trade and the compulsory division of the land.

The Czar and Empress of Russia who with the Czarewitch have been on a visit to Kremsir to meet the Emperor and Empress of Austria, are now, on their way 'back to St. Petersburg, The Hungarian populace are expressing displeasure at the meeting of the two Emperors. St. Petersburg, Aug. 28.

A telegram has been received from M. de Giers, Minister for Foreign Affairs for Russia, stating that His Majesty the Czar is highly satisfied with ihe complete accord which manifested itself at the recent interview with the Emperor ot Austria at Kremsir.
