RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Geraldine—Monday, Aua. 31, 1885. (Before H. C. S. Baddeley, Esq., R.M., and British and Rev. Geo. Barclay J.P’s.) BREACHES OP TOWN BY-LAWS. The following persons were charged with allowing cattle to wander on the streets of the township :—A. M’Lean, I cow, fined 5s and costs ; Thos. Farrell, I cow, 10s and costs ; Thos. Keane, 2 cows, 5s each and costs. The case against Mary Whittaker for allowing 5 cows to wander at large was adjourned till next Court day. civil case. Judgment was given by default for plaintiff in the following cases ;—Wm, Crocker v, Jephson—Claim £3, for firewood and carting ; O. E. Sberratt v. Joseph Warren—Claim £5 ss, for rent; Geraldine Dairy Factory Company v. W. Helem—Claim £ls 12s, for share calls and interest due. The cases, B. Bailey v. Wm. Guildford, damages claimed for smothering sheep, and the cross-action Guildford v. Bailey, for trespass of sheep, were adjourned on the application of Guildford, as his solicitor was unable to be present, and Dr Foster (Bailey’s solicitor) consenting as his client was also unable to attend.
This being ail the business the Court adjourned till the 14th September.
