LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. The Couucil met at 2.30 p.m, on Wednesday. Captain Fraser moved for correspondence relating to certain remands to the Wellington Lunatic Asylum, but after an explanation by the Hon, the Colonial Secretary withdrew his motion. The N 'p ; er Harbor Board Bill, Sydenham Public Works Loan Bill, Tiinaru :1 arbor Board Bill, Dunedin Cattle Reserve Bill, and Auckland Reserves Bill were passed. 1 Several new Bills were read a first time. The Distress Bill and the Otago Harbor Board Bill were considered in Committee and reported. The School Committees, Emotion Bill was recommitted and the title changed to the Education Act Amendment Bill. The Life Assurance Policies Bill was read a second time. The debate on the second reading of the Customs and Excise Duties Bill was adjourned. The Stamp Amendment Bill was read a second time and referred to a Select Gommitb-’e, <ts also was the Deceased Persons Estates Duties Bill. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. ou Thursday. . - , The Reform cf the Council Committee .reported that they had no tion to make as to' any amendment or’ alteration of the constitution of the Council.
