ENGLISH AND FOREIGN. London, April 7. The Melbourne mails of the 26th February, via Brindisi, wera delivered to-day. April 8. The Prince and Princess of Wate6, accompanied by Prince Albert Victor, left for Dublin last night. Obituary Edward Vogel von Falckenstein, the celebrated Gprman General, aged 88 years. The Prince and Princess of Wales, and Prince Albert Victor, reached Dublin to-day. Their Royal Highnesses were met on arrival by a vast crowd of people, who displayed the tno&t loyal enthusiasm, April 9. His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, in replying to an address of welcome presented at Dublin, expressed the hope that the present visit would not be the last one ho would be able to pay to Ireland. The balance of the credit of 200,000,000 francs for the military expenditure in Tonquin, towards which 50,000,000 h»ve been already voted, was passed by the Chamber of Deputies last night. Rio, April 12. The Shipping Company's R.M.B. Rirautaka, from LyUelton (March 15th), arrived yeßterday evening en route to Plymouth. Her frozen meat is in good condition.

Melbourne, April 8. Arrived, this afternoon—Waihora, s.s., from tbe Bluff. It is announced that the timber yards in Sandridge road, belonging to Sharp and Co., which were burned yesterday, were insured in no less than eighteen offices.
