WAR IN THE SOUDAN.
The hostile Arabs made an attack today on a convoy which was proceeding to the zareeba which has been formed on the road to Tamai. The attack was repulsed by the British troops, the enemy losings hundred men. The only casualties on the English side were three wounded, A general advance of the whole force is expected to take place daring the next three weeks. The Arabs keep up an incessant attack on the convoys in the neighborhood of Souakim. Their losses are heavy and include a number of tfomen. Lieut. Marchant was wounded in the leg, but uot severely. March 27. The transport steamer Iberia sailed from Aden with the troops for Soudan at eight o’clock on Thursday evening, The contingent hope to be able to join in the advance on Tamai. Cairo, March 28. Telegrams are to hand announcing the arrival of General Wolseley and staff at Dongola, where the British headquarters will rest, pending the projected advance on Khartoum in the autumn. Aden, March 27. The transport Iberia left last evening for Souakim, all well. Sydney, March 27. The Soudan Contingent Indemnity Bill baa passed through both Houses of Parliament, and Parliament has been prorogued.
