THE WESLEYAN CONFERENCE.

A considerable portion of the lime of Friday morning's session at Dunedin was occupied in the consideration of applications of the Revs. Joeiah Ward and C. E. Borley, of the Pr mitive Methodist Church, to be received into the Wesleyan Ministry. It was resolved that both applicants he received. The transUr of the Rev, jag. Thomas from Tasmania to New Zealand, and of the Rev. E. Barber from Raglan to Adelaide was agreed to. Since the last Conference three ministers have died, — the Revs. Peter Wills. Jas. Buller and Wiremu Patene. Obituary records of the deceased were read, and several m risters took part in the conversation that followed. Un the motion of the Rev, Josepli Buttle, it was unanimously resolved to send a telegram to Mr 800 l It, a' Auckland, welcoming him to the colony, and expressing sympathy with temperance work. The oral examination of candidates for ordination was conducted by the Rev. J, H. Simmonds. The candidates were the Revs. Garland,Tars.maon, Pinfold and Slade. Eiidi was unanimously accepted by the Conference. On Saturday Messrs Fellowes, Burrows aud Law were proposed as candidates for the Ministry, and were unanimously received for further training at Wesley College, Auck a id. The Rev. Win. Kirk (31 years u minister) applied to he placed on the list as a supernumerary, on acconut of advanced years. It was decided that two of the students, Messrs Rothwell and Lawry should commence circuit work this year. [Mr Rothwell has been in charge of the Temuka circuit for some months and it is anticipated that he will uo to Ashburton.^
