CRICKET.
The following will represent the Temuka Cricket Club in the match against Geraldine to-moirow :W. H. Hargreaves (captain), J. T. M. Hay hurst, Dr Hayes, E. Brown, R. Pinckney, G. Smith, G. Wood, J. J. Heap, J. Ogilvie, E. W. Gurr, and W. G. Aspinall, Emergencies: J. Cleeves, W. Haynes, H. E. Smith and Thurston. The following team will represent Geraldine ;—R. H. Pearpoint, W. H. Lodge, N. Fish, B. Macdonald, W, Macdonald, F. Bethune, G, Ward, G. Slack, J. P. Hargreaves, W. F. Hargreaves, and T. Hughes ; emergencies ; Jameson, A. G. Cox, and A. L Temple. An express will leave Taylor’s Hotel,Geraldine, for Temuka at 11 a.m. punctually. The game will be played in Temuka, commencing at 1 p.m. A cricket match between Wellington and Auckland Elevens, played at Wellington on Thursday last, resulted in a draw, greatly in favor of the northern team. The following are the scores : Auckland, first innings, 224; second innings, 174; total, 398. Wellington, first innings, 145; second innings (five wickets down), 153 ; total, 298. immediately after the match the visitors left for home.
