WOODYEAR’S ELECTRIC CIRCUS.
After an absence of about twelve months, Mr Woodyear, with his excellent circus troupe, visited Geraldine on Saturday. He has every reason to be satisfied with the patronage accorded him by the residents of tho Geraldine district, the large tent being almost filled. Indeed it was a matter for wonder among the Geraldine people as to where so many people came from. The programe of the evening’s amusement was an excellent and varied one, and was fully enjoyed by those present. The riding was not quite up to the mark, Shields, about whom so much has been heard, evidently not being in good form. Wanbold, showed much skill and steadiness in his balancing feats on decanters, as did also Mr Taylor with the plate tricks. On a suspended pole a clever exhibition was given by one of the troupe, the same person also going a good balancing trick with a cask, The two clowns were a continual source of amusement, and though many of their jokes were old, they were served with a sprightliness that made them pass off with great success. At the close of the evening’s performance Mr Taylor, on behalf of Mr Woodyear, thanked the audience for their kind patronage, and concluded by saying they hoped to again visit Geraldine next November,
