CHRISTCHURCH RAGES. The Canterbury Jockey Club’s Summer Meeting took place on Saturday afternoon. Although the day was fine the attendance was limited. About £4500 passed through the totalisator. Hereford’s ch f Dime - -2 Midsummer Handicap, a sweepstakes of 10 sovs. each, with 300 sovs. added, for three-year-olds and upwards ; second horse to receive 25 sovs. out of the stake. Major N. George’s hr c Waipiti - • 1 Mr G. G. Stead’s b c Ike - - -2 Selling Race, a sweep of 5 eovs. each, with 50 sovs. added. Mr W. Russell’s Silver Queen - • 1 Mr D.
