♦ DUNEDIN MARKETS. J. H. Kilgour, grain and produce broker, reports, under date December 31, as follows : Wheat —Some business has teen done in prime milling lots, but without affecting prices, which I quote at 3s 5 I to 3s 6d for white velvet and Tuscan, and 3s 2d to 3s 3d tor red straw ; inferior to medium milling, 2s 9d tj 3s ; fowl feed, Is 9d to 2s 3d. Oats —In the absence of shipping orders there is little business being done, and prices remain at about level of last week's quotations—viz., 2s 6d for prime milling, and 2s 4d for brig/it t-hort feed ; inferior to medium, 2s to 2s 3d. My sales have been at quotations. I Barley—Prime samples of malting are wanted, and would cotrmand 4s to 4s 3d. Chaff—Tl»3 market has been rather bare during the last week, and any lots arriving are readily placed at an advance of 2s 6d on recent quotations. Potatoes—New potatoes are wanted at £l2 to £l3 per ton. CHRISTCHURCH MARKETS. At the Addington yards on Wednesday very'limited entries of all kinds of stock were yarded for the day's supply. The attendance was only moderate, and business very mi idling. The fat sheep offered were principally of medium quality, and buyers were, not inclined to pay late v<\lut)B, and line after line was passed unsold. The best of the crofßbred wethers sold at from 14s to 15s 6d ; ewes and mixed sexes, 12s to 14s 3d; merino wethers, 9s to lis CI; being about per lb on an average. On'v a kw hues of store fhpep were offered, mid but little doing, late values giving way. A lhuittri entry of fat lambs met with good competition, at prices ranging from 10s to lis 9d. Only a small entry of pigs came to hand ; rates being unaltered. An av' rage entry of siore cattle wa< yarded, and a moderate am unt of husin-ss done, with no alteration in values to note, but a healthier demand was shown. Fat cattle—A email entry ol veiy good quality was yarded, the demand for which, in consequence of small supply, was keen. Advanced rates were, paid, viz., from 20s to 22s 6d per lOQ.bs, according to quality. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, Dee. 13. Colonial breadstuffs—Adelui -jp. wheat ex store is to-day quoted at 375, an advance of Gd. Off-coast cargoes are selling at 355. Adelaide flour remains at 23s Gd,ond New Zealand wheat at from 30s to 3 if.
