ST. SAVIOUR’S CHURCH, TEMUKA.

The following is the report of the distribution of prizes to the children attending the Sunday school connected with this church, which we were compelled to hold over last issue :

The Sunday School children assembled at 2.30 p.m. on Christmas Day to receive their prizes, and were accompanied by many of the parents and friends, who came to witness the ceremony. Aftcs the opening service the Rev. T. Hamilton spoke a few words of congratulation to the teachers on the results of their labors during the past year, and also bestowed praise upon the children for their assiduity and atten'ion. Mrs (in the absence of Mrs Hamilton) kindly distributed the prizes, and performed the task with evident pleasure, speaking kind words of encouragement and praise to the recipients. The Superintendent, Mr Rutland, having commented on the past year’s work, the Incumbent gave a short address on the “ Nativity of Christ,”

Two special prizes (reference Bibles with index and map?) presented by Mr Lucas for “Diligence in'searching the Scriptures,” were awarded to Mary Wills and R. Tyrrell Austin.
