DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKET.
J. H. Gilgour, grain and produce broker, reports, under date November 26, as follows :
Wheat. —There is a slight demand for choice milling samples, but without any improvement in price, and inferior to medium meets with no enquiry, I quote choice lots of milling at 3s 6d to 3s 7d ; ordinary, 2s 9d to 3s 3d ; fowl feed, Is 9d to 2s sd.
Oats.—The market has been decidedly quieter this week, und prices show a reduction of Id per bushel. Quotations are : Blight short feed. 2s 6d to 2s 7d j milling, 2s 8d ; inferior to medium feed, 2s 4d to 2s s<l. B'irley.—There is a fair inquiry for malting' lots, but very few prime jo is offering. My sales hav* been medium quality malting at 3s Bd, but choice lots would command from 4s to 4s 2d. Potatoes.—My sales have been at £3 10s to £3 15s, with a fair local inquiry. Grass Seed.—Nothing doing, Rubbitskins, Is 6d to Is 8d for winter skins. Chaff. -Demand limited, at £2 15s to £3. CHRISTCHURCH CORN EXCHANGE. The Corn Exchange report for the week ending Friday evening, the 28th inst, : The grain and produce market has not been marked by any signs of improvement during the past week, and calls for no particular comment, as it remains in precisely the same state as the previous one. The only line in brisk demand is wheat, prime Hunter's and Pearl, which is sought after by millers and others for mixing, and can bo fairly well placed at quotations as under : —Wheat —Tuscan, 3s 4d ; Pearl and Hunter's, 3s 3d. Oats-Milling, 3s ; short feed, 2s lOd, long oats, 2s 7d f.o.b. Barley—Malting, 3s 6d to 4* ; feed, 2s to 2s 3d, Christchurch. Beans and Peas—The former, 33 to 3s 3d ; the latter 3s to 3j 6d f.o.b. Potatoes—Nominally, £4 10*, f.o.b. sacks included, market bare. Butter and Cheese —6d to 7d for the former, the latter, 4£d to 5d f.c.b.
AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Melbourne, Nov. 27. The New Zealand aud Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) held their usual weefcly wool sale to-day, v/heu a catalogue comprising 4GBO bales was submitted. There was the usual large attendance of buyers, and competition for all lots was keen, 3500 bales being disposed of under the hammet at very satisfactory rates. The market was very firm at late prices,
ENGLISH MARKETS. London, Nov. 25. The wool market continues firm. At to-day's sale 10,700 bales were catalogued. Nov. 26, CWonial ,ex store—Adelaide wheat, 353 Gd ; New Zealand, 30a Gd to 33s ; Adelaide flour, 23s 6d, Wool—At to-day's auction 9900 bales were catalogued. The market oontinues firm. The first series of next year's auctions will oornmenee on the 20th January,
