N.Z. METROPOLITAN MEETING,

These races commenced at Christcburch on Tuesday, the weather being wet and cold. A meeting of the Stewards was held at Dine o'clock to take into consideration the advisability of postponing the meeting, but it was decided to proceed. The attendance was fair. We are obliged to limit our report of the races to the results :

The Hurdle Race Handicap, of 100 sovs, with a sweepstake of 5 sovs. each, to o-o to the second horse ; minimum weight, 9st; over six flights of hurdles; once round and a distance. Mr D.
