TIMARU HORSE PARADE.

Saturday last was the day appointed for holding the annual Horse Parade under the auspices of the! Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association. The parade was to hare been held in the old Show Grounds, but as the weather was extremely wet, it wa* decided to parade them once up and down the Main Road. The entry card■ were distributed gratis. There were only 13 entries, as against 19 in 1883, and 35 in 1882. The horses werein good form, and showed that careful attention had been given ihom. In the draughts, Mr Matthews’ Strathmore was the only one from this district which was shown. He appeared in excellent condition. He is going to travel in this district this season. Mr Pearpoint’s Jangler was the only other horse from this district shown. He was also in very good condition. The following were the. entries : DRAUGHT HORSES.
